Recognition Comes During 2026 New Yam Festival Celebration in Nnewi South
NNEWI SOUTH, ANAMBRA – Prominent community leader, Hon. Fredrick Emeka Anagwu, was on Thursday, 28th August 2026, honored with an Award of Appreciation by the Utuh Development Union, UDU.
The presentation took place during the 2026 New Yam Festival – Iri Ji celebration in Utuh, Nnewi South LGA. According to UDU, the award was in recognition of Hon. Anagwu’s contributions toward the successful hosting of the festival and his continued support for community development initiatives.
The event attracted traditional rulers, community stakeholders, youth leaders, and residents who gathered to celebrate Igbo culture and acknowledge individuals who have supported communal efforts.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND CULTURAL PRESERVATION
Speaking at the ceremony, leaders of Utuh Development Union noted that the New Yam Festival remains a vital platform for unity, cultural preservation, and dialogue among community members.
