Nigeria Youth World Council (NYWC)
On the Occasion of International Youth Day – August 12, 2025
Theme: “Youth Power: Building Bridges to a Sustainable Future”

On this year’s International Youth Day, the Nigeria Youth World Council (NYWC) joins the world in recognising the immense potential, creativity, and resilience of our youth.

As Chairman of the Board of Council Directors, I affirm that the youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow ,they are active partners in shaping Nigeria’s destiny today. Their innovative spirit, entrepreneurial drive, and passion for community development are indispensable to building a sustainable and inclusive future.

Yet, we acknowledge that many young Nigerians continue to face serious challenges , from unemployment to skill gaps and limited access to platforms where their voices can influence decision-making. NYWC exists to change this reality. Through initiatives like the forthcoming Skill Empowerment for Practical Impact (SEPI) Program, our nationwide training drives, and the upcoming NYWC Nationwide Youth Convention 2025, we are turning commitment into action.

We call on government, private sector leaders, civil society organisations, and well-meaning Nigerians to partner with us in providing tangible opportunities for youth development. Sponsorships, mentorships, job placements, and community collaborations can transform the lives of millions and, in turn, transform our nation.

To the youth of Nigeria, I say this: Your time is now.Be bold in your vision, steadfast in your values, and fearless in your pursuit of positive change. You are the heartbeat of this nation and the architects of a brighter future.

On this International Youth Day, let us go beyond celebration to action , working together to ensure that every young Nigerian has the skills, opportunities, and confidence to lead our nation into a future we can all be proud of.
