CONGRATULATIONS COMRADE DAVID KOLO •
Autobiography of David Kolo

I am David Kolo, born on January 22nd, 1994, in Minna, Niger State, into a family of four children. I am a twin, and growing up in a close-knit household gave me an early appreciation for unity, responsibility, and shared purpose. These values have continued to guide my personal, professional, and political journey.

My education began in 1997 at Mypa Nursery School Minna, before I moved on to the Federal University of Technology Staff School, Minna, in the year 2000, where I laid the foundation of my formal learning. In 2005, I advanced to Anglican Secondary School, Minna, where my leadership qualities began to take root. Afterward, I enrolled at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, before transferring to Stafford University, Uganda, where I studied Business Administration with a major in Finance and Banking. I successfully graduated in 2018, equipped with the knowledge and drive to pursue a career centered on service, accountability, and financial discipline.

Upon graduation, I proudly answered the call to serve my nation through the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), where I was posted to the 551 Nigerian Air Force Station, Jos, from 2018 to 2019. My service year deepened my sense of duty, broadened my understanding of Nigeria’s diversity, and strengthened my resolve to contribute meaningfully to national development.

Professionally, I began my career as an Investment Advisor in Abuja with a real estate company, where I gained firsthand experience in financial management, investment strategies, and corporate governance. Today, I serve as an Accountant at the Niger State School of Health Technology, Minna, a role that allows me to combine administrative responsibility with financial oversight, ensuring transparency and accountability in the management of public institutions.

Beyond my career, my passion lies in leadership, youth empowerment, and governance. I believe that the progress of any society depends largely on the vision and courage of its leaders. My commitment is to contribute to building a Nigeria that works for everyone, where opportunities are accessible, institutions are strengthened, and young people are empowered to take their rightful place in nation-building.

As I look forward, I remain guided by the principles of service, integrity, and accountability. I aspire to play a pivotal role in shaping policies and initiatives that will not only improve the lives of my people in Niger State but also advance the development of Nigeria as a whole. I envision a future where leadership is people-centered, inclusive, and transformative, and I am determined to be part of that change.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
